About the role

The Director of Clinical Services for Wound Care is a member of the Executive Team. Accelerate Community Interest Company (CIC) is a social enterprise. Accelerate’s mission and priorities are central to every role and all our activities:

  • To improve the lives of all people with wounds and lymphoedema through excellent collaborative working and building the evidence base of best practice for our specialities of wounds, lymphoedema and biomechanics
  • To empower all people with wounds and lymphoedema to bring their voice and challenge to Accelerate’s services and to enable them to better manage their condition.
  • Bring leadership to champion system change through prevention and the reduction of health inequalities

These priorities are fundamental to this executive’s role, and you will provide visible and inspirational clinical leadership in order to achieve our mission. Accelerate’s purpose is underpinned by commercial priorities that will enable the sustainability of our mission through a focus on reach, revenue and reputation.

The Director of Clinical Services for Wound Care is to provide strategic direction for the directorate, its governance, clinical risk and quality infrastructure in collaboration with other Clinical Directors. You will act as principal advisor of wound care management to the Chief Executive and Board based on your national expertise, skills, and extensive knowledge in this field. You will be well versed in delivering community system change and improvement programmes within the challenges of political and financial barriers. You will be accountable for the upholding of high standards of professional practice in all aspects of wound care management, patient engagement and personalised patient care. You will lead by example, supporting a culture of distinction and service to our community.

The post holder will work strategically to increase the national position, visibility and reach of Accelerate in the drive to create system change for the community we serve. You will have the skills and experience to seize opportunities that will enhance collaborative relationships and will be responsible for the successful expansion of clinical delivery thereby increasing reach and revenue underpinned by a reputation for value based expert provision. Your expertise will support the Commercial Director in their execution of contract management and business development.

Collaborative partnerships with colleagues within the Executive are pivotal to the realisation of this role and where accountability sits; partnership working for the effective management of clinical resources is critical. Alignment to Accelerate’s values of respect and distributed leadership alongside successful delivery of the commercial objectives are central to the success of your role.
