Overview

Pharmacists are perfectly placed to provide support to patients who present with mild swelling and wounds to the lower limb to aid the prevention of chronic complications.

Attending this workshop will empower you with the knowledge to promote the earliest possible intervention with the aim of avoiding complexities in management and swiftly improving the lives of your patients.

Pharmacists who wish to expand their skills and knowledge in lower limb conditions and explore the commercial opportunities available through advice and sales of compression hosiery.

Course content

• Identifying at risk patients and treating underlying venous disease and mild swelling with compression therapy

• Proactive use of mild compression therapy to stop deterioration in skin tears and lower limb wounds

• Lower limb examination skills and identifying red flags

• Types and styles of compression hosiery and how to measure accurately
