Accelerate CIC is proud to announce that our Director, Georgina Ritchie, has been named a finalist in the prestigious British Forces in Business Awards 2026 – the world’s largest celebration of veteran talent in civilian careers.
The shortlist, revealed on 19 May, recognises outstanding individuals who have successfully transitioned from military service into impactful roles across business and society. The awards highlight the immense value that Armed Forces veterans bring to organisations through leadership, resilience, and innovation.
Georgina’s journey exemplifies these qualities. She began her career serving in the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps, where she worked across multiple clinical environments and deployed on operations in Iraq.
Following her military service, Georgina built a distinguished career in the NHS before joining Accelerate CIC, where she now leads the organisation’s education and training directorate. Her leadership has transformed the Accelerate Academy into a nationally and internationally recognised programme, expanding access to high-quality wound care education and improving outcomes for patients.

Over recent years, Georgina has:

  • Driven significant growth in the number and reach of Accelerate’s courses
  • Expanded the Academy team and established a new Northern hub
  • Supported innovation in digital learning, widening access across the UK
  • Contributed to research and national guidance to improve patient care
Her work continues to embody the values of service, collaboration, and excellence – ensuring clinicians are better equipped to deliver care and patients receive improved outcomes.
The British Forces in Business Awards, now in their ninth year, shine a spotlight on the achievements of veterans and the organisations that recognise their value. The 2026 awards ceremony will take place on 25 June at Grosvenor House, London, bringing together over 1,200 leaders from business and the Armed Forces community.
