Who is it for?
This service is for healthcare professionals and/or those teams who would value specialist input when managing complex or hard-to-resolve cases.
It may be helpful when your complex clinical case needs joined-up thinking across wound care, lymphoedema, podiatry, biomechanics or dermatology.
What happens in the meeting?
You will have the opportunity to present your clinical case to Accelerate’s expert team, including specialists in lymphoedema, wound care, podiatry and biomechanics, alongside Dr Bernard Ho, Consultant in Dermatology and Lymphoedema.
Together, we will discuss, in-depth, your complex case and agree clear, practical recommendations to support excellent patient outcomes.

Meet the core members of the Multidisciplinary Team
Dr Bernard Ho MBBS FRCP MSc MBA PgCert FRSM iFAAD MSCS, Consultant in Dermatology and Lymphoedema
Bernard has a dermatology practice at St Helier Hospital and lymphoedema practice at St George’s Hospital, both within the St George’s, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group (GESH).
He is Clinical Director for Undergraduate Medical Education at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at City St George’s University. Chair of the British Association of Dermatologists Skin Diversity Subcommittee. Secretary of Psychodermatology UK. Member of the EADV Pruritus Task Force.
Rebecca Elwell, Director of National Clinical Services
Beccy has over 25 years experience of working as an ANP in Lymphoedema and is a proud trustee of the BLS. She has recently joined Accelerate having previously been working in an acute NHS Trust for over 20 years.
Beccy has particular interests in Primary Lymphoedema and paediatrics. Cellulitis/Lower limb inflammation, lipoedema and lymphoedema secondary to cancer. Her breadth of managing people living with lymphoedema however extends to all types of swelling from any cause. Rebecca has managed the most complex cases and truly understands the devastating impact of living with lymphoedema.
She is a regular presenter in both national and international conferences and is on the editorial board for the Journal of Lymphoedema and the British Journal of Community Nursing’s Chronic Oedema supplement.
Caitriona O’Neill – Director of Clinical Services & Lymphoedema
Caitriona joined the Team in 2008 as the new Lymphoedema Service was launching for Tower Hamlets. At this point the clinical service sat within the Primary Care Trust. Caitriona is one of the remaining members of the Accelerate team that spun out of the NHS in 2011 when it became a social enterprise.
Caitriona trained as a Registered General Nurse at Waterford Regional Hospital in the 1990s before moving to London to pursue a career in palliative care. Palliative care for many years was a great passion and out of this she developed a keen interest in Lymphoedema, particularly around the lack of service provision and variation with a keen desire to address this inequity.
A key area of Caitriona’s work within Accelerate over the years has been the development of access to other boroughs within North East London where previously there was no provision for Lymphoedema. Caitriona was previously a trustee for the British Lymphology Society which has allowed for collaboration and joint working with external colleagues, and she is a member of the pan London Lymphoedema Practice Group.
Kate Williams, Director of Wound Care
Kate previously worked at the University of Huddersfield where she was a Senior Lecturer in Tissue Viability for 2 years, and Leeds Community Healthcare Trust where she has worked as a Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist for 12 years.
Kate’s reputation as a national leader and teacher in Tissue Viability is well known. She is currently Vice Chair of Legs Matter and a Trustee and Treasurer of the Society of Tissue Viability.
Kate has a special interest in lower limb wounds and antimicrobial stewardship which aligns well with Accelerate’s expertise in these areas.
Fran Campbell – Lead Podiatrist & BIomechanics Specialist
Fran leads a specialist biomechanics clinic within Accelerate’s nursing teams, providing musculoskeletal podiatry expertise for people with lymphoedema, leg ulcers and lipoedema. She has held extended‑scope musculoskeletal podiatry roles across both the NHS and private practice.
She is a member of the British Lymphology Society Scientific Committee, the European Wound Management Association, and an Associate Editor for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Research.
Fran’s research focuses on mobility impairment and its impact on lymphatic and venous function in the lower limb.
Anna Swinburn – Advanced Lymphoedema Specialist Nurse
Anna works with people who have complex or long-standing lymphoedema, helping them find compression options and management strategies that work for their life.
Her sessions start with listening – understanding what matters to each person and setting realistic goals. Anna wants every patient to leave feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about what comes next.
