Healthcare practitioners who would like to develop and enhance their theoretical knowledge and practical skills when managing complex, hard to heal wounds.

You must hold a professional registration with a recognised regulatory body.

Learning objectives

  • Critically evaluate the evidence base for wound healing and impaired wound healing
  • Critically appraise wound healing that leads to collaborative clinical decision making, consent and client wellbeing
  • Critically appraise the evidence base for advanced techniques used in wound debridement and demonstrate how they are safely employed in person centred care
  • Analyse and apply the ethical and legal responsibilities associated with the provision of extended scope of practice techniques for professional registrants and develop awareness of mechanisms for the protection of the public and practitioner.
