Why Accelerate?
Accelerate is a social enterprise and specialist service dedicated to transforming care for people with lower‑limb and wound conditions. Our mission is to empower clinicians across the system with practical skills, evidence‑based approaches, and the confidence to act.
We work closely with Pharmacists, PCNs and ICSs to drive:
- Improved patient outcomes through early identification and intervention
- Optimised prescribing and reduction of unwarranted variation
- Cost‑effective care pathways that support better use of NHS resources
CLICK!: Dressings Optimisation for Pharmacy Teams
CLICK is Accelerate’s proven Dressings Optimisation Scheme (DOS) designed to support Pharmacists and Pharmacy Teams to make safe, consistent, clinically‑appropriate dressing choices.
Through CLICK, pharmacists can:
- Streamline wound dressing stock to evidence-based essentials
- Reduce unnecessary spend and variation across clinical areas
- Build a consistent understanding of wound assessment and product selection
- Support better patient outcomes through optimised wound care
CLICK has already helped organisations achieve significant savings while improving the quality of care. Come and speak to us at CPC North to find out how your PCN, place or ICS can adopt the model.
Our Accelerate Academy Course “Early Intervention in Lower Limb Conditions for Pharmacists”
This course with 50 FREE places sponsored by Medi is designed specifically for Pharmacists working in community, primary care, urgent care, and care-home settings. It provides the essential knowledge required to identify, understand, and act early on lower-limb conditions.
Through this training, Pharmacists will learn to:
- Recognise common lower-limb conditions and their early warning signs
- Identify risks, red flags and indicators that require escalation
- Understand lower-limb assessment fundamentals, including swelling, skin changes, and vascular considerations
- Make informed decisions about initial management and referral pathways
The course builds strong clinical confidence, enabling Pharmacists to intervene earlier, reduce delays in treatment, and improve patient outcomes. It is highly practical and tailored to everyday pharmacy caseloads.
