Continuing to invest in people, not profit
As an employee-owned social business, every success at Accelerate is reinvested into the people who make a difference – our team and the patients we serve. In 2024/2025, that spirit of shared ownership continued to drive change, from strengthening wellbeing and training to shaping bold new directions for our service.
Voices that matter: empowering our members
Membership gives every colleague a voice in Accelerate’s future. With representation directly on the Board, the Membership Council has continued to influence key discussions on pay, benefits, sick leave and life-insurance, as well as guiding this year’s Team Survey and feedback process. In 2024/2025 we welcomed three new members to the Council, broadening its reach and strengthening its voice in decision-making.
A major milestone in 2024/2025 was a Membership Council vote to introduce a self-payer service, launched in April 2025. The decision reflects how our members continue to shape Accelerate’s evolution – finding new ways to extend access while staying true to our profit-for-good values.
People who stay and grow
Our highest staff number this year was 44, with 94% satisfaction and 94% retention. Colleagues tell us this comes from a culture that values wellbeing, flexibility and open communication, and a workplace where people feel trusted and supported to do their best work.

Membership in action
Every quarter, we hold All-Team Days. These are essential moments in our calendar where views are sought, ideas generated, and proud moments shared. These gatherings build our sense of togetherness and belonging as an ambitious, employee-owned social business.
This year’s sessions focused on extending our mission and outreach, developing quality-improvement projects and improving internal communication, including redesigning our intranet to reduce email traffic (and, as always, sharing lunch and cake!).
