About the role
The post holder will work within the Centre of Excellence working alongside lymphoedema, wound and specialist podiatry clinicians. The HCA will undertake a wide range of duties delegated by that team or suitably qualified regulated personnel within Accelerate. The individual will be expected to work collaboratively and proactively with the clinicians to meet the needs of clients. In choosing to undertake this role the post holder will also be required to undertake other duties which will assist the nurses and multidisciplinary team in operating an efficient and effective service for the population served.
To work as a proactive member of a highly motivated and driven team, in order to provide care and therapy to clients with wound care or swelling management needs. In taking on this role the individual will be expected to embrace the philosophy and values of the organisation and reflect this in all that is done, when offering advice and management to clients.
Main duties
- Support the clinical team to deliver effective and responsive clinical care and treatment programmes
- Provide additional support to patients enabling them to understand their role in their own health and treatment programme
- Provide administrative clinical support to create an efficiently run team
- Support the capture of data and outcomes to support the demonstration of the worth of the service
- Day to day requests for patients within the Garments Made Easy scheme to enable an offering of speedy access to the most appropriate garments whilst at all times being cognisant of resource management against a budget
- Support a programme of appointments with patients through telephone reviews to ensure an understanding of the garments and how best to care for them plus a clear understanding of the benefits of the use of the garments and good skin care
